The Importance of Delegation
As a business owner, a leader or an entrepreneur, you definitely need to learn how to delegate tasks to your employees.
Here is a tip on how to master the art of delegation: The 4-D Mix: Design, Delegate, Decision and Doing.
Now, you would want to spend most of your time on the first three Ds (Design, Delegate and Decision). Design the business that you want. Delegate your design to someone else for them to do the tasks for you. Decide if you like the outcome of the design or you would like to change it.
Lastly, for the "doing" part, this is where the art of delegation will enter. Sometimes business people spend most of their time doing trivial tasks (for example, data entry) when you can actually delegate it to someone else (your assistant, for example). This will save you more time to do more important things like putting more time in planning your business, or spending more time with your family.
That's what you want to master as a business leader and entrepreneur. Remember the 4-D Mix, and spend most of your time first three Ds (Design, Delegate and Decision). The "doing" part should be your last concern as this will be for the employees that you delegated the tasks on.
Master the art of delegation and I promise you, your future self will thank you for that.
